Jessica Parker Kennedy is a Canadian actress. She was born on October 3, 1984. Jessica rose to fame by her portrayal of Melissa Glaser on the American supernatural fantasy teen drama television series The Secret Circle, as well as starring Max on the Starz original American historical adventure television series Black Sails.

In recent times she appeared on the CW's The Flash, where she played Nora West-Allen, the daughter of the protagonist Berry Allen. Jessica has also had roles in other popular TV series such as Kaya and Colony, Undercovers, and Smallville.


Her early life and upbringing:

Jessica Parker Kennedy was born in Calgary, Alberta, and was the only child to a White single mother, while her father is of black ethnicity. When she was growing up, Jessica recalls that there were very few people of color around her, and she was friends with the only other African-American girl at her local school. Jessica found herself naturally gravitating towards other Black people later on in her life as she wanted to find a community where she felt that she belonged. When traveling abroad to the US, she found that being a woman of mixed race was proving to be a little more difficult than expected, but it all turned out well in the end.


Her career as an actress:

Jessica knew from an early age that she wanted to become an actress, and she frequently acted various characters in front of her mother. Jessica's breakout role came in 2008 when she portrayed the supervillain Plastique in the American superhero television series Smallville. Later that year, she appeared in the 2008 comedy film Another Cinderella Story while also being a recurring character (Natalee) on the 2007 television series Kaya which aired on MTV>

In 2010 Jessica was cast by the established director J. J. Abrams to appear in the spy drama series Undercovers as the younger sister of the lead character (Portrayed by Gugu Mbatha-Raw), but she was replaced by Mekia Cox. 

Jessica then went on to star in the CW series The Secret Circle until its cancellation after the first season had wrapped up in May 2012. In 2017 Jessica joined the Arrowverse (for the CW channel), where she appeared in the action TV series The Flash. Her character, Nora West-Allen, was featured throughout season four of the show. Later the next year, she was promoted to become a series regular for the fifth season of the show, and her superhero name became XS.


Her personal life and relationship status:

Jessica has had a few meaningful relationships throughout the years, and although she didn't seem to have a long-lasting relationship leading up to 2020, there has been some recent news that she is in a serious relationship with the actor Ronen Rubinstein. The couple has been seen together on multiple occasions, and it looks like things are going well for them.
