Who is Mike Stoklasa and more about him:
Mike Stoklasa is an American director, actor, and creator of RedLetterMedia.
He is probably most famous for releasing his video reviews titled The Phantom Menace Review (2009), Attack of the Clones Reviews (2010), and Revenge of the Sith Review (2010).
He is the co-founder, alongside Jay Bauman, for the video and film production company RedLetterMedia. They're both independent filmmakers.
Mike Stoklasa has produced a few projects under the RedLetterMedia banner, including his web series such as The Grabowskis (2007) and his comedy shorts. Mike Stoklasa has also produced several review-based web series, including Best of the Worst (2013), re: View (2016), and Half in the Bag (2011).
Mike created his very first video review for Star Trek: The Next Generations after he had watched the film sometime in 2008. He thought to himself that it was a shitty movie and was quoted as saying that it "completely messed up the transition to the big screen from what was a really great TV show," this inspired him to share his view with others, and so he began producing his video. Mike Stoklasa thought that his own voice was too boring to be used for a review-type video, so he adopted a new persona by the name of Harry S. Plinkeet, a character which he had created and used in his previous short films (Played by Rich Evans initially, and developed further within the reviews).
Mike is known to have a very dark sense of humor which has only further increased his popularity among others.
His inspirations:
Mike has said that Will Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971), Goodfellas (1990), Glory (1989), The Roceketeer (1991), and Ghostbusters (1984) were among his favorites movies when growing up.
His video on The Phantom Menace Review motivated another Star Wars fan to make a 108-page long critique towards the video that Mike had posted.
Mike has stated that he is fascinated with haunted houses and ghosts and has attempted to visit some seemingly haunted locations in hopes of seeing a ghost.
Red Letter Media:
Mike founded Red Letter Media on April 23, 2004. Their headquarters are located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. THey've accumulated a respectable 1.3 million subscriber following on their YouTube channel and have received numerous praises from critics regarding their content.
Red Letter Media has produced a number of original feature-length films. Among some of those are Oranges: Revenge of the Eggplant (a 2005 film available on Netflix), Feeding Frenzy (a 2010 genre-spoof of puppet monster movies such as Gremlins), The Recovered (a horror-thriller starring Tina Krause), and some others.
Red Letter Media has also produced a number of commentary tracks, which they've released for their films on Bandcamp. There are three commentary tracks in total that Skolosa (as Mr. Plinkett) has released. Additionally, the company has released tracks by Evans, Bauman, and Stoklasa as themselves.
Mike has stated that there are some big projects on the horizon for Red Letter Media that they are working on and urged his fans to stay tuned as an announcement discussing them will be coming out during early summer.
