Katharine Isabelle (Full name Katharine Isobel Murray) is a Canadian actress; she was born on November 2, 1981, in Vancouver, British Columbia.
She has been labeled as a scream queen due to her roles in a bunch of horror movies, where her screams are often notably loud. Katharine began her career as an actress in 1989, after playing a small role in the cult classic television series MacGyver (An American action-adventure television series that ran from 1986-1991). Her other notable roles include playing Ginger Fitzgerald in the feature films Unleashed, Ginger Snaps, Ginger Snaps 2, and Ginger Snaps Back: The Beginning.
Katharine Isabelle was also awarded the 2014 Fangoria Chainsaw Award for Best Actress for her portrayal of Mary Manson in the popular Canadian body horror film American Mary (Released in 2012).

Katharine was born in Vancouver, British Columbia. Her parents are Gail Johnson, who is a writer and a producer, and Graeme Murray, who has worked as a production designer and won 2 Emmy awards for his work in the X-Files.
Her maternal parents, alongside her grandparents, are from Scotland. Katharine's paternal half-brother Joshua Murray is a director and an actor.
Katharine has had several stage names during the course of her acting career.
She began her acting ways at the tender age of eight when she portrayed Katie Murray on the cult classic television series MacGyver. After her initial role, she received countless other offers and took up small episodic roles on such television series as Immediate Family, Cold Front, The Last Winter, Children of the Dust, Salt Water Mooser, Married to a Stranger, and Burning Bridges.
She has also worked with her half-brother Joshua in The Last Winter and Cold Front. In 1998 Katharine worked with her father Graeme Murray when she appeared in the episode Schizogeny on the sci-fi supernatural tv series The X-Files.
In 1998 the actress experienced major changes to her career after appearing as Lindsay Clark in the movie Disturbing Behavior, where she starred alongside such established actors as James Marsden, Katie Holmes, and Nick Stahl.

Katharine experienced her biggest jump to stardom after she appeared as Ginger Fitzgerald in the Ginger Snaps movie series, directed by John Fawcett. Emily Perkins was her co-star in the film.
The casting for the film took place in New York, Toronto, Montreal, Los Angeles, and Vancouver. Isabelle auditioned the same day her co-star Emily Perkins did, at the local agency in Vancouver. They read off one another off-camera. The screenwriter for the movie Karen Walton has noted in an interview that the two actresses were what they were looking for and made for a perfect match.
